No comfort: A
woman cries upon her arrival at Halim Perdanakusumah Airport in East
Jakarta on Wednesday. Family members of the passengers believed to have
been on board the missing Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft came to the
airport for information on their relatives. (Photographed by Jerry Adiguna for The Jakarta Post)
An ill-fated Russian Sukhoi Superjet 100 carrying 50 people on board went missing near Mount Salak, West Java on Wednesday. According to the manifest, there were eight Russian crews and 42 passengers, including journalists from Angkasa aviation magazine, Bloomberg news agency and TransTV.
My colleague's girlfriend was in the airplane, and he rushed to Halim Perdanakusumah airport after work yesterday. Stay strong, my friend.
I hope we will hear good news today.
