If you want to know the beauty standard here, just read women's magazines or watch TV and you'd find that most women featured there are fair-skinned. I was born a copper-skinned baby, as M once told me, and so after decades trying to make my skin one notch fairer (from using whitening lotion to wearing long-sleeved shirts and umbrella), I have come to terms that I'll never be Snow White.
But hey, who says that people with darker skin tone are not beautiful? Just take a look at these Indonesian models :).
