On-board Of Jakarta's Commuter Line

The Cikarang-Jakarta commuter line started operation on Oct. 1, and it has since wreaked havoc on the lives of all Cikarang and Bekasi-bound commuters. Schedules are added, switched and disrupted, while the construction work on the double-double track remains slow as snails.

In the midst of the chaos, I'd like to bring memories of the happy time on-board of Jakarta's commuter line. After all, commuter line is like a microcosm of the capital city. It gives you glimpses of how vibrant a city is.

Public display of affection is not a common thing in Jakarta. But this couple does not seem to mind showing a bit of affection through their tangled legs.

I had to do a double take when I realized that the book read by the passenger next to me was in Japanese kanji. Did I just step into a Yamanote line?

An inspiration of this post is this link about acts of kindness on-board on New York's subway.
