Dik Trom marktplein (market garden? I've lost many Dutch words I accumulated in my gray cells)
Hello, sweeties! It's Friday, a very crucial day to plan our weekend. Hahaha. Gosh, it's been quite some time since the last time I made the Weekender post, I kinda missed doing it.
If you have kids, bring them to Erasmus Huis Jakarta as the Dutch cultural center will open an exhibition on children books and illustrations on Saturday. The event, which will start at 1 p.m., will invite visitors to listen to Pak Raden reciting a children story.
In case you can't come this weekend, don't worry, the exhibition will last until Feb. 10.
Then at 2 p.m there will be a movie screening of Dik Trom. The story plot goes like this: Dik Trom is a cheery boy; honest and a bit fat. His happy life changes when, together with his family, he moves to Thinhaven, where his father opens up a new restaurant. In Thinhaven no one is outgoing or fat. When Dik Trom falls in love with Lieve, the skinniest girl in town, he will go out of his way to win her heart and, at the same time, show the people of Thinhaven that true beauty lies within.
The movie will also be screened at 4.30 p.m.
Also takes place on Saturday is the first anniversary of atamerica, the US cultural center. Celebration will feature singer Glen Fredly between 2 and 4 p.m. On Sunday, the center will invite Robin Lim, 2011 CNN Hero from Bumi Sehat Foundation.
Do you have anything fancy this weekend? Hope you have a fun weekend!
